The Wandering Whistling Duck (Dendrocygna arcuata) is a species of whistling duck, this species of duck can be found here in Brunei.
The current moon phase, it is 68.4% lit. I would have to say apart sigthing of the moon’s crescent (Hilal), this phase excites me because you can actually see the moon’s craters and it’s shadow clearly as oppose to during full moon. I spotted this bird yesterday in Tasek Recreational in Bandar Seri Begawan, this is a male Crimson-Winged Woodpecker with red malar stripe with bicolored bill and the cap on the head has less red which indicates it is a juvenile.
If lucky, you could here and see this beautiful bee-eater throughout primary or secondary forest here in Brunei. It’s call is deep and hoarse descending call notes ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. I have actually record the video of Red-Bearded Bee-Eater can be seen here. Please like the Facebook page.
